Yahoo! 360° - Stitch 'n Frog Crochet, Knit, and Stuff - Scrubbie Pattern

This is a cute scrubbie crochet pattern that I found today while surfing. Enjoy!

I love using it for wipeups after washing dishes. And it's a great dishcloth also. It's my favorite - - after the scrubbies.

Scrubbie Pattern

Hook - H

Yarn - small amounts of cotton and a tough synthetic ( I use Red Heart for this)

3" scrubbie

With cotton yarn:

Rnd 1: In a Magic Circle, ch 2, then make 12 dc in the mc, join with a slip stitch in the top of the first dc. Tighten the mc and secure yarn. Either weave ends in, or crochet over them to secure the end.

Rnd 2: ch 2, make 2 dc in same stitch as join, 2 dc in each stitch, join in top of first dc.

Rnd 3: ch 2, 2 dc in same stitch as join, 1 dc in next dc, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, Repeat around. Join with sl st in top of first dc.

End off yarn and weave ends in.

Repeat with synthetic yarn, but do not end off. after joining with sl st, ch 1, hold sides together, with wrong sides together. From now on you will be sc in back stitch only (BLO) of synthetic yarn and front stitch only (FLO) of cotton yarn.

Make a sc BLO in same stitch as joining, and FLO of cotton side. 1 sc in each BLO of synthetic and FLO of cotton sides, all the way around the scrubbie, join with sl st, and fasten off. Weave end in.

6" scrubbie

Repeat pattern for 3" scrubbie to Rnd 3, do not end off.

Rnd 4: ch 2, 2 dc in same stitch as join, 1 dc in next 2 dc, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 2 dc, Repeat around. Join with sl st in top of first dc.

NOTE: If scrubbie begins to pucker, Frog out and make 2 dc in first st, 1 dc in next 3 dc. Repeat around. It depends on how tight or loose your tension is, as to which count you will need.

Repeat with synthetic yarn, but do not end off. after joining with sl st, ch 1, hold sides together, with wrong sides together. From now on you will be sc in back stitch only (BSO) of synthetic yarn and front stitch only (FSO) of cotton yarn.

Make a sc BLO in same stitch as joining, and FLO of cotton side. 1 sc in each BLO of synthetic and FLO of cotton sides, all the way around the scrubbie, join with sl st, and fasten off. Weave end/s in.

To use; you don't need a container of soapy water, just wet the scrubbie with warm/hot water, drizzle a little dish detergent on the cotton side, squish it a little to distribute the soap, then wash with the synthetic side. It will make dishwashing faster and easier
